Lesson 5: The 1920’s Woman
Objectives:
1) The student will analyze information about their chosen 1920’s woman and will present a PowerPoint exhibiting visual appeal, creativity/originality, effort, organization, convention,
ideas and content, and cooperation.
Materials/Resources
Computer, digital projector, cds, copies of powerpoint rubric.
Activities: Power Point Presentation
Students will be divided into pairs to work on their Power Point presentation. Srudents will have already have chosen a woman to present from the list attached at the end of this lesson. Students will have already spent some time in the computer lab for development of their PowerPoint. At a prior time they will have received a review of how to do a powerpoint, example of what the finished product should look like and me modeling an appropriate presentation. Students who prefer to do the entire Power Point presentation on their own may do so. A gifted/high achiever may like to teach Powerpoint presentation “how to” to the class using the laptop and digital projector. Students who do not have a computer at home may come before or after school to work on it.
Assessment: Power Point Rubric will count as big grade for the unit.
