Activities: Multiple Intelligences Learning Center
We will be dividing up into groups with no more than 4 people per group. Some groups may have less than three people depending on interest level. Groups will have been determined on prior day and they will have already have determined how each person will contribute. Can do flexible grouping for gifted kids. LD and ESL students should be paired with someone who can present or do the writing portion if that is not their strong suit. An extension for gifted students would be to create their own cartoons related to the times.
1. Evaluating and Organizing data
-Group(s) will go to their center to read over data in article and discuss the best way(s) to display information. Students will decide amongst themselves who will do what task. Students may decide that they want to show data in a different light and do another, different type of chart graph to get the point across.
-When project is done, the group speaker will explain information to class and will answer questions.
2. Letter Collection Creative Project
-Groups will divide up letters to read at their centers, discuss when they’re finished, then pick 1- 2 letters and use the vibes they got from the letters to create poem or song.
-Class will decide who will read poem or sing song.
3. Analyze Political Cartoons from 1920’s
-Students will go to center and analyze their cartoons.
-Students will describe cartoons to class and then explain intended meaning.
4. 1920’s Music/Dance Project
-If possible, these students will be in groups of two.
-Students will view several (4) music videos, then imitate a dance they have seen and present to
